Meadows' permanent casino to open in April

HOUSTON, Pa. – The Meadows Racetrack & Casino plan to test operations of its $175 million permanent slots casino on April 13, and if successful, the casino will open to the public soon afterwards. Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board officials will attend April 13th to verify the casino is ready to open. A date for the grand opening has not been set.

The Meadows' temporary slots parlor opened in June 2007 with 1,825 machines. The new facility will feature more than 3,700 machines. There will also be more dining and entertainment venues and a new area to watch and bet on harness racing.

The Meadows Racetrack & Casino is about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh.
