Pennsylvania adding 10,000 slots

January 26, 2009

Ten thousand additional slot machines will be placed in Pennsylvania’s seven slot-machine casinos this year. The hope is to help the state’s overburdened budget with additional revenues. Last year the casino's brought in more than 660 million dollars.

Last year’s state revenues were used by lawmakers to provide low-income seniors a break on property taxes and rent. Revenue from additional slots has not yet been allocated but will likely be applied to troubled spots in the budget.
