Cascade Locks Resort & Casino opposed by Wu

January 29, 2009

PORTLAND – Rep. David Wu of Oregon says he will fight the plans of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to build a resort casino on the Columbia River Gorge.

The tribe has applied for approval with the U.S. Interior Department. Wu says he will push Ken Salazar, the incoming Interior Department Secretary, to reject the application.

The tribe hope to build a $389 million resort and casino at Cascade Locks, which Wu says will ruin the natural resources of the area.
