Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs awards $487,422 Wheel of FortuneMay 25, 2009A man who came to the casino for a barbeque won a whopping $487,422 Wheel of Fortune® MegaJackpot® on Sunday, May 24th. The winner, who asked to remain anonymous, moved to the winning machine when another machine was not paying. After playing $20 at that machine, he was surprised to win the top progressive prize and said his first thought was, "where is my wife?" The winner says he will continue working and plans to use his winnings to "pay some bills." Sunday's MegaJackpot® is the first to be paid this year and the second ever won at the casino. The one-dollar Wheel of Fortune® progressive system has a starting jackpot of $300,000. To win, a player bets three dollars at a time while trying to line up the Wheel of Fortune® reel symbols on the machine's payline. MegaJackpot® is part of a Native American progressive gaming network linking over 300 tribal casinos nationwide. Each time a coin is played anywhere in the network, the jackpot accumulates until someone hits the top jackpot. This Cherokee Casino is expanding from its current 50,000 square feet facility. Construction is underway on a new $83 million casino with 600 new slot machines, 10 more poker and table games, more restaurants, and a bigger nightclub with a stage and dance floor. A new 7-story hotel with 140 rooms will open nearby Return to Oklahoma Casinos home page. |
