First Council Casino opens Feb 29th

NEWKIRK - The new First Council Casino will open this week at 5pm on February 29^th.  It is located on the northern side of Newkirk, Oklahoma, and two miles south of Arkansas City, Kansas.

This $60 million casino is owned and operated by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma, who also own the Seven Clans Paradise Casino near Ponca City.

The Bartlesville Examiner Enterprise reports:

"The exterior of the property features a five -story, Vegas-style digital sign. Guarding the territory on the hill behind the casino stands a steel silhouette sculpture of a tribal hunting party on horseback, hunting buffalo across the prairie."

"New York-based Kuhlmann Design Group, known for bringing natural elements into large public spaces, designed the interior. First Council Casino boasts natural native grass arrangements in the dining room, a silhouette leaf-motif in lighting, textiles and signage, and a warm palette accented with turquoise and copper. The carpets are plush, and the bar is two-inch thick granite."

General Manager Jim Stuart says, "First Council casino will offer spacious room for gaming play and beautiful dining and bar areas. Nothing was overlooked in the design and function of the casino.
