Poll 60 percent favor Clinton County casino

CLINTON COUNTY, OH - The plan is to build a $600-million casino resort complex
off Interstate-71 near Wilmington is favored 60% to 35% by Ohioans surveyed in
the latest Quinnipiac University poll.
The telephone survey of 1,342 Ohio voters has a margin of sampling error of plus
or minus 2.7 percentage points.
Another question whether respondents would legalized casinos in Ohio got a
similar result of 61% in favor and 34% opposed.
Backers of the MyOhioNow campaign have submitted 763,000 signatures to the
secretary of state to add their casino proposal to the November 4th ballot.
Election officials are currently verifying the signatures to insures the minimum
requirement of 402,275. If approved by voters, 30 percent of gambling revenue
would be divided among Ohio's 88 counties based on population.
