Mega-Casino Proposed for Clinton County
COLUMBUS - Attorney General Marc Dann has received a new petition for the
November 2008 ballot that would approve a 300,000-square-foot casino resort in
Clinton County.
Before it can make the ballot, the attorney general must find the petition has
proper wording and has 1,000 out of 2,440 valid signatures. If accepted, the
petitioners will be authorized to seek 402,000 valid signatures which are
necessary to qualify for the November 2008 ballot.
The proposed casino would be located in Clinton County and in close proximity to
Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton. It would include a hotel, a race car speedway,
a golf course, and a convention center. Thirty percent of profits would be paid
to the state to divide among all counties proportional to population.
