SULLIVAN COUNTY - The Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Indians, based in
Wisconsin, has proposed a $700 million casino and hotel in the Catskills of
Sullivan County, New York.
It will feature 150,000 square feet of
gaming space, 3,000 slot machines, 190 game tables, and 750-room hotel. There will be specialty bars,
restaurants, a retail area, parking structures, warehousing, and a service
station.
The Stockbridge-Munsee is a mix of two ancient peoples, the Mohican and the
Delaware. The tribe already operates the Mohican North Star Casino and Bingo
complex in Bowler, Wisconsin.
