Sinnecock Tribe Proposes NYC Casino

NEW YORK CITY - The NY Daily News reported the Shinnecock tribe is submitting a bid to the city to build a $1.4 billion gaming palace at Aqueduct Racetrack.  As an further incentive, the tribe included a provision to a promise to drop its fight to build a casino on its ancestral lands in Southampton.

The proposed gaming facility would feature a million-square-foot casino with 10,500 slots, 350 gaming tables and 12,000 employees. The tribe would also build a 1,200-room hotel and other amenities subject to community inputs.
