ISLETA PUEBLO, NM - Isleta Casino and Resort will soon become a Hard Rock casino
after signing a licensing agreement with Hard Rock Hotel Holdings LLC. The
casino will have a new Hard Rock name and display the decor, memorabilia and
merchandise of the rock and roll music theme. It will be the only Hard Rock
Casino in New Mexico. "Having that here in Albuquerque we feel will be a definite draw to the market," Steve Neely, a spokesman for the casino. "Not just our property, but to the area as a whole. It's a way to grow our revenues, and it's a way to be exclusive to sell in the market. Once everything is in place and revenues start generating, then we will need additional staff." "The name is a big deal and one of the things that took the longest was to decide what make the most sense," Neely said. "Whether it would make the most sense to leave the Isleta name on it, or to make it more of an Albuquerque name." The grand re-opening as Hard Rock Albuquerque will begin next spring. See
