President Casino Riverboat to be fixed and continue gambling

November 3, 2009

ST LOUIS - Pinnacle Entertainment, the company that runs the President Casino, announced last week it will repair the hull of the riverboat and continue its gambling operations.

Pinnacle wanted to move the casino to a new location or replace the riverboat with a newer one, but the Missouri Gaming Commission told the company they would have to apply for a new license to make a change.

Pinnacle decided its best option was to repair the hull to avoid risking their license. They felt the riverboat would no longer pass inspection and a new application might face competition. That is because last year Missouri voters decided to limit the number of gaming licenses in the state to thirteen.
