Choctaw begin construction on new casino in Jones County

Opposition is coming from the Governor, but the casino project for the
Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians under way.
The new casino will be 27,000 square feet. Between 500 to 700 gaming machines
will be in operation. The casino will also have a snack shop.
Governor Haley Barbour is asking for a hold to be put on the project. The issue
is over the casino location and issues with wastewater. The Governor has
threatened to go to court to stop the project.
The $18 million casino project is expected to hire 250 people.
