Firekeepers Casino is training 300 dealers

May 12, 2009

BATTLE CREEK - The $300 million Firekeepers Casino off Interstate 94 is scheduled to open this summer. It will employ about 1,500 people.
Currently, 300 candidates are attending their first week of a 12 week dealer school. These 300 students were chosen from 2,000 applicants.

The training is being held in a warehouse/office building and teaches comprehensive courses on how to run roulette, craps and blackjack games.
Casino dealers typically earn between $30,000 and $50,000 a year with the chance for advancement.
