Greektown Casino-Hotel and MotorCity Casino have both reported an increase in revenues from February to March. Both saw double digit increases. Greektown reported their best ever month since its 2000 opening. Up 12.3 percent in March to $33.48 million. Greektown believes part of the success is due to new management, renovations to the gaming hall, and more direct mail advertising. Motorcity increased to 12.9 percent. They went from $36.51 million to $41.23 million. The MGM Grand Detroit Casino also saw an increase in single digits. This is the city’s largest gaming arena. Revenues climbed 8.1 percent. Showing a strong increase from previously earning $48.62 million to $52.55 million. All together the casinos have had an increase in revenue. However they are still down 1.48 percent from 2008.
