Greektown Casino offers $99 room rate

DETROIT - The new Greektown Casino hotel has boosted its business by offering a special $99 room rate. The $99 rate and discounts for existing rewards customers has filled the 400-room hotel 80% to 100% on the weekends and 60% during the week.

"We're really pleased with that because we just opened ... it's getting people here," said Bill Williams, vice president of guest services. "We're giving people a chance to experience a brand-new, fresh product for $99, and then we offer you $10 on top of that" in free play at the casino.

"By getting people here ... we're filling the restaurant. ... We have a whole host of new staff members who are busy, making tips," he said. "It's a win all the way around."
Williams said there is no end date set for the $99 promotion
