Firekeepers Casino Construction Job Fair Tuesday 3/4BATTLE CREEK - The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians will host a construction job fair Tuesday for local workers interested in working on the FireKeepers Casino. There will be a maximum of 300 jobs for the 15 month project. Construction will begin this spring. The job opportunities include local general laborers and skilled tradesmen including carpenters, bricklayers, operating engineers, sheet metal workers, teamsters, electricians, plumbers and pipefitters, roofers, painters, glaziers, architectural metal and glassworkers, insulators, ironworkers, plasterers, sprinkle fitters, and boilermakers. The Firekeepers Casino will be located at I-94 and 11 Mile Road on 78 acres in

Duane Wixson, construction manager for the general contractor Clark Construction, said: "We are
certainly going through a lot of effort to get local people involved. We've been
given the directive from the tribe to have as many local and Native (American)
