December 27, 2007

STANDISH, MI – The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe has not announced an opening date for the new Saganing Eagle's Landing Casino, as their goal to open this month appears delayed.

Work and preparation continues on the 32,000-square-foot casino, as newly-hired employees are being trained at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, the tribe’s casino near Mt. Pleasant. The casino will employee 300 when operational.

A tribal spokesman Joe Sowmick said the opening will be set by the Tribal council and is “some time away”.
