"Saganing Eagle's Landing Casino" Opens December 2007

ARENAC COUNTY - Construction on a new Indian Casino in the Standish-area of Arenac County began last June by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe. The tribe owns the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort about 50 miles southwest in Mount Pleasant, MI.  Construction is on schedule for the casino to open by end of year.

The new casino will be called "Saganing Eagle's Landing Casino". When finished it will feature a 32,000-square-foot casino floor.

The tribe recently acquired the former Great Lakes Shores Marina and has renamed it Eagle Bay Marina. The marina is about two miles from the new casino site. There are an existing 50 slips. A spokesman says there's a potential of adding 50 more slips and possibly some RV users and campers
