Low water levels in the Mississippi River may cause delay in the grand opening plans for the Baton Rouge casino and hotel owned by Pinnacle Entertainment. The new casino cost $357 million to build. But remains uncompleted until the river can rise.

The casino needs three hulls that are completed. The hulls will make up the casino. However, the company is unable to move them from Bollinger Shipyards due to the low water levels. However, the company remains hopeful that the upriver snow will bring the water levels back up soon.

When completed the new casino and hotel will offer guest 51 table games, 1,500 slot machines, 206 guest rooms, and an event center that can accommodate 1,400 people.

The new grand opening date is estimated to be in first few months of 2012.
