Possible New Hollywood Casino to be Built in Sioux City
January 31, 2012
A new casino could be built in Sioux City’s downtown business district. Penn
National Gaming is currently looking for property that would be a good fit for
the new gaming facility. The casino will need to be built on ten acres.
If built, the casino will be a Hollywood Casino. Plans call for a design that
would be art deco in style. It is estimated to cost $100 million.
The casino company is planning on working with the area’s businesses. Efforts
will be made for cross promotions. This will be done to help companies in the
down town district, as well as encourage the residents of the surrounding area
to visit down town.
Currently the gaming license for the county is owned by The Missouri River
Historical Development group and is suing Penn National Gaming. The group states
that Penn National is blocking them from finding a new casino.
The gaming license will need to be released in order for Penn National to
continue with plans to build the new Hollywood Caisno.
