Clinton’s Wild Rose Casino to Open This Summer

April 7, 2008

CLINTON, IA - The long winter threatened to delay the opening of the Wild Rose Casino and Resort now under construction in Clinton, IA, but additional workers and overtime has the project on schedule to open in June or July. The new casino will replace the Mississippi Belle II riverboat casino currently docked in Clinton. The Mississippi Belle II will be sold to Celebration Cruises in Moline and will be refurbished for use as a dinner cruise boat.

Last week workers were preparing to install the flooring in the casino area and painting areas in the hotel section. Project manager Brady Jones said the snow and cold has made it difficult to install the roof. “We’ve had to play catch-up the whole time,” he said. “Our schedule gets crunched every day.”

The new Wild Rose Casino will feature a 28,000-square-foot gaming area with 600 slot machines, a buffet area for seating 250-280 people, a sports bar with televisions in every booth, a 1,000-seat conference room, and a 60-room hotel.
