Casino Aztar plans facelift
January 15, 2010
Casino Aztar will soon be getting a face lift and new machines according to
general manager, Grady Aitken.
Aitken said, "If you spend anytime in the casino at all you can see it's aging.
We're getting things like new carpet, wall coverings, cosmetic things. We want
to make this a product people who frequent Los Vegas will feel comfortable
coming here. Once Tropicana assumes complete ownership we will see something
happening very soon in terms of improving the property.”
After Tropicana takes over ownership of the casino in February several million
dollars in improvements will begin. There will be 200 new slot machines
replacing the older ones over time, and cosmetic improvements everywhere will
give the casino a new look.
"We will remain very competitive,” Aitken said. “French Lick is a nice facility
but has disadvantages as far as proximity and getting to their property." He
feels the casino is in a prime location.
