On December 22 the former Empress Casino will have a new name, Hollywood Casino Joliet.

The casino has been renovated. The theme is 1920 to 1930 era art deco. However there is also a modern media theme as well. Guests that arrive at the valet parking area will see Hollywood images as they are shown on a 110 foot electric screen. Guests that arrive from the parking deck will be walk past the Hollywood Stadium Sports Bar. There they will see a 80 by 120 foot video wall. This can show up to nine games at one time.

Hollywood Stadium will offer over 65 varieties of beer. 20 of which will be on tap. The bar will also offer private booths and Wi-Fi access. The sports bar will officially open in February. However the reset of the casino will be opened on schedule for the grand opening.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy the Final Cut Steakhouse. Decorated in Hollywood memorabilia, the restaurant will also have a piano lounge and 120 selection wine list.
At the game tables, dealers will be dressed as celebrities such as Elvis and Michael Jackson. "Hollywood Girls" will also work the tables when the other dealers are away.

The grand opening will be held in three weeks. Crews are busy making final preparations.
