COCONUT CREEK - Seminole Casino Coconut Creek celebrated 10 years today
beginning 10 days of giveaways, concerts and 10-cent drinks.

The casino opened in 2000 with 900 slot machines and added 600 more slots in
2007 as part of a $30 million expansion. The next phase will add a 24-story
hotel, shopping and entertainment complex. This plan is waiting for a
compact to be worked out with the state.

"The plans are made, but until the politics end of things makes its way
through, we won't know what's going to happen and when," said Seminole
Coconut Creek general manager Steve Bonner.
