Bingo resort planned for Perdido Key

PERDIDO KEY, Florida - The Keefer's Key Development of Florida Co. is partnering with the Perdido Bay Tribe of Lower Muscogee Creek Indians to build an upscale bingo resort on Perdido Key.

Cy Keefer, the developer said Friday that details of the proposed development will be announced within the next few weeks. "The idea we have is to open a first-class bingo facility the tribe will be proud of and the community will be proud of," he said.

The bingo resort is expected to exceed the amenities of the recently opened Wind Creek Casino & Hotel in Atmore, Alabama. It will be 15,000-square-feet a restaurant and smoking and nonsmoking sections, Keefer said.

"We are now in the process of securing a site location. We are looking at the site where the Best Western motel was formerly located,"
