Seminole Tribe to Market Own Beef Brand

HOLLYWOOD, FL - The Seminole Tribe of Florida will introduce its own brand of beef for sale at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. The product is a result of a joint venture with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe of Connecticut and the U.S. Department of Interior's Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development.

The beef will be raised by Native Americans and shipped to McGreevy's Mid West Meat Co., a Native American-owned meat processing company in Wichita, Kansas, where it will be branded with the Seminole Tribe of Florida label. Distribution has been set up with Cheney Brothers of West Palm Beach.

Initially, most will be sold to ARK Restaurants Corp., which operates seven fast-food venues at the food court of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. Future sales will include hotel chains, restaurants and other food-service outlets, and U.S. military bases.
