The Pechanga Resort & Casino plans to expand. The announcement was made by the
Pechanga Band of Luiseņo Indians. The hotel will have a new wing. A new elegant
spa facility. Two restaurants will be added. Plus a new pool complex.
The new hotel wing will be 14 stories tall when completed. It will be located on
the south side of the current hotel. There will 550 guest rooms. Over a third of
those will be suites. A restaurant and bar will be located in the lobby.
An event center will also be created in the new hotel wing. 67,000 square feet
will be available for meetings, concerts, conventions, and sporting events.
A spa and salon will be built in a 23,000 square foot space. It will offer 17
treatment rooms. There will also be a fitness center. 5 Hydrotherapy pools will
also be located on a terrace.
The pool complex will cover 4 acres. There will be three pools. A lagoon type
pool. Plus a pool that caters to families. On the roof top will be a pool grille
restaurant.
The the Rose Institute of State and Local Government at Claremont McKenna
College recently conducted a study. The research showed that in 2012, 5,257 jobs
were created related to the Pechanga tribal and resort activities. The Pechanga
is among the 10 largest employers for the County of Riverside.
2015 is the expected start of the expansion project. It is estimated that it
will take 2 years to complete.
