Sacramento band Whiskey Dawn has been entertaining audiences all over the West Coast for years and are said to have broken the mold for their “California Country” style of music. The group will ring in the New Year at Red Hawk Casino on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 before heading to Nashville, Tenn. in the early spring to further their country music career.
Band members, Troy Ferris and Mike Cook began singing and playing music together in high school over 10 years ago. They came to realize that music was their passion and that they were fortunate to have such a great sound together. With the addition of Kevin Maxwell and Johnny Meyers they’ve perfected their sound and have made fans across the Western United States.
Whiskey Dawn released their first original album Dear Nashville in 2009 and it’s been a whirlwind for them ever since. Their popularity has only grown with regular features on both 101.9 The Wolf and 105.1 KNCI in Sacramento. Their music can be heard on radio stations up and down the West Coast.
Whiskey Dawn has performed with several country music stars including Brad Paisley, Faith Hill, Eric Church, Lady Antebellum, Randy Travis and many more. They have performed over 100 shows per year and continue to charm and captivate the audiences wherever they go.
Whiskey Dawn wowed crowds in Nashville with recent performances at the National Underground, and as a result, they’ve scored “house” spots at both the National Underground and Cadillac Ranch venues. They’ve also been featured in the November issue of the Nashville Music Guide. The group plans to relocate to the Nashville area in the early spring but wont’ forget their roots. Sacramento has not seen the last of Whiskey Dawn, they’ll be returning later in 2012 for select dates.
Whiskey Dawn performs at the Stage Bar at Red Hawk Casino Saturday, Dec. 31 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday, Jan. 1 from 7 p.m. to midnight.
