December 14, 2007

WILLITS - The Sherwood Valley Tribe of Pomo Indians want to build a new casino on seven acres of a wooded bluff at the south end of Cropley Lane near the western border of their rancheria. The tribe has been operating the Black Bart Casino in Willits since 2001.

Their proposal was introduced yesterday at a City Hall scoping meeting for a new casino with the following features:
  • 35,000 square foot casino
  • 349 slot machines
  • food and beverage facilities
  • 500 parking spaces
  • improvements in roads and access to the new facility

The existing Black Bart Casino is 6,000 square feet with 250 slot machines.
