Hard Rock's mobile sportsbook launches in Florida

November 8, 2021

The Seminole Tribe quietly launched its sports betting mobile app last week without any public announcement. Under terms of the gaming compact signed with the state last June, the tribe could launch its mobile sportsbook as early as Oct. 15. Sign-ups and bets can be placed anywhere in Florida, and all bets are received and managed by web servers located on the Seminole reservation.

Hard Rock's sports betting can be downloaded to Apple and Android phones.

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa reopens tonight May 21

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa will reopen this evening at 7 PM after shutting down for COVID-19 on March 20th.

To ensure the health and safety of guests and employees, Hard Rock will enforce the following policies:

The number of visitors at any one time will be limited and not exceed 50% of capacity.
All visitors and workers will have a temperature check at entry. No one 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will be admitted.
Masks or cloth face coverings must be worn by visitor and workers at all times.
Half the slot machines will be turned off to provide social distancing between players.
Players will be separated with plexiglas or similar barriers at table games, poker tables and customer service.
Restaurants will be open with table spacing for social distancing.
The hotel will open 200 of its 800 rooms.
No events are scheduled at this time.
No other reopening dates have been set for the other Seminole casinos.

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is opening Sugar Factory

November 22, 2019

A new Sugar Factory American Brasserie will open at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa next month. The new venue will overlook the grand entrance from the mezzanine level.

Sugar Factory describes itself with these statements on its website:

"Sugar Factory is known the world over for its celebrity-endorsed Couture Pops, which have turned sweets into the latest designer accessory."

"Iconic superstars including Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Britney Spears, Drake, Nicole Scherzinger, Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria and Rupert Grint are just a few of the celebrities who have either endorsed or have been spotted with the sparkly lollipops."

Sugar Factory is a full-service restaurant with a standout floor-to-ceiling wall of 500 types of candy covering 4,000-square-feet. It will seat 120 customers. Twenty of them can choose to sit at an elevated white marble bar overlooking the grand entrance.

The hours of operation are 11AM to 11PM weekdays and 11AM to 1AM on weekdays. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and brunch every Saturday and Sunday.

The Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is the restaurant's third location in Florida. The other two are in Miami and Orlando.

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa adds Elvis Presley's 24K gold leaf grand piano

The gold and glass design of the new grand entrance to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is now super highlighted with the addition of the 24-karat gold leaf grand piano owned by Elvis Presley. This piano will be on permanent display in the new entryway, which is part of the $700 million expansion opening Oct 3.

Elvis purchased the piano for his mother in 1955. After her death in 1958, it went into storage. In 1968 it was removed from storage and finished in gold leaf by Priscilla Presley as a Christmas present and for the Presley's first wedding anniversary.

Elvis played the 24K gold leaf grand piano in his music room at Graceland.

The 15-story Hard Rock hotel tower in Tampa is currently under construction and will open October 3, 2019, The tower addition will add 564 more rooms and suites and require the hiring of new employees to provide services to the guests.

There are full-time, part-time and on-call positions available for the new hotel, restaurants, and event center. These jobs include cooks, kitchen help, waiters/waitresses, servers, cocktail servers, security officers and general staff.

Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa tops out hotel tower

December 10, 2018

On Tuesday Tampa Seminole Hard Rock & Casino placed the final beam into place for the new hotel tower that will be 15 stories tall. The tribal owned casino resort has been undergoing a $700 million expansion. The new hotel tower is scheduled to be completed in 2019.

Currently there are 250 guest rooms. The project will add 564 more rooms. The additional rooms are needed since the hotel is almost sold out every night.

Another project being completed is the larger deck. When finished there will be three pools, a spa and salon, and a restaurant with seating for 120 people. The current number of shops will triple. 700 parking spaces will be added. More gaming will be added as well. The total amount of games will be 5,000 slots and close to 200 game tables.

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa plans $700 million expansion

Plans have been announced for a new $700 million project at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa. The project will expand the casino hotel to an additional 200,000 square feet for gaming and entertainment.

The project is expected to be finished by the middle of next year.

There will be nearly 200 gaming tables and 5,000 slot machines. In addition, there will be a new hotel tower. It will be 15 floors and offer 564 guest accommodations. They will be a combination of guest rooms and suites. This will bring the total amount of hotel rooms to 800 and 88 suites. At the top floor of the hotel tower will be a gaming lounge for VIP guests. The area will feature access to rock star suites via the private check in and elevators.

Three new swimming pools will be available to hotel guests. They will be located outside and near the new hotel tower. For dining options, there will also be the Pool Grille. A restaurant and bar that will offer seats for 120 guests. Events will be hosted at the new pool and deck area. These will be held both during the day and in the evening.

The number of parking spaces will also be increased. 700 new spots will be added. This will bring the total number of parking spots to nearly 6,000.

Lastly, the Seminole Hard Rock Event Center is under construction. It will be located on the casino's second floor. The expanded area will offer 30,000 square feet for entertainment and music events. This includes the grand ballroom that will be 17,000 square feet. The room will be able to accommodate large poker tournaments, conventions, trade shows, concerts, and private events.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida plans to spend $2.4 billion in expanding and renovation projects for both the Tampa and Hollywood Florida Hard Rock casino locations. This is the largest economic investment made into the casinos to date. The investment is to be shown as part of the commitment from the tribe to the Florida residents that the tribal owned gaming venues will help benefit their community's economies.
