Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration The Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration is linked to the
traditional observance marking the return of the salmon and began as a means of
sharing the heritage, culture and traditions of the Coquille Indian Tribe and
other Pacific Northwest Tribes with residents and visitors to Oregon's Bay Area.
Now in it's sixth year, the event attracts Native American artisans and
musicians from throughout the Western United States and Canada.
In addition to the free daytime events which will take place at the South end of
the casino's hotel, this year's celebration will feature two Saturday evening
performances with Jan Michael Looking Wolf, 2008's Native American Music Award
Flutist of Year and winner of the 2008 Indian Summer Music 'Best Native Flute'
award. Looking Wolf will perform at 7 p.m. and again at 9 p.m. in the casino's
Salmon Room.
We will also hold our popular traditional Salmon Bake dinner where fresh salmon
is prepared in the time-honored Coquille open-pit manner. This dinner allows
visitors the opportunity to experience Native American culture, art, food and
music.
Tickets for Jan Michael Looking Wolf's Saturday night concerts and the popular
Salmon Bake dinner are on sale now at KoKwel Gifts inside The Mill Casino *
Hotel.
