Rendezvous at the Straits Powwow
This is a special event combining the early history of the Mackinac Straits
area, French Fur Traders along with the Odawa home coming Powwow.
The 52 acre site over looks the spectacular Mackinac Bridge and is surrounded by
majextic cedars. Located at the New France Discovery Center, this show is
considered a must see for quality representations by living historians. Walk the
trail from the 1700 hundreds and come to the dance arbor of a modern day Powwow
celebrating the heritage of the Anishinabe Three Fires in the homeland of the
Odawa.
Traditional drumming and dancing with the Grand Entry starting at 1:00 p.m.
